Weather forecast: Scattered showers and high temperatures prevail in the country
The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) has issued its report for this Wednesday, warning of the occurrence of local downpours, thunderstorms, and wind gusts in various parts of the national territory. These weather conditions are the result of residual moisture following the passage of a tropical wave, added to the influence of the east wind.
From the early hours of the morning, an increase in cloudiness is expected with isolated showers over the northeast coast. As the afternoon progresses, daytime heating will encourage the development of precipitation, concentrating mostly in the interior of the country.
Provinces under rain surveillance
Rainy activity is expected to be more notable towards the late afternoon and early evening hours in the following locations:
- North of Azua, San Juan and Elías Piña.
- South of La Vega and Santiago.
- Monte Plata, Monseñor Nouel, Dajabón and Santiago Rodríguez.
- Northern areas of Santo Domingo.
For Greater Santo Domingo, including the National District and the municipalities of Santo Domingo Norte, Oeste, and Este, the forecast points to isolated clouds with occasional cloud increases throughout the day.
Maximum temperatures will remain high, ranging between 34 °C and 36 °C, while minimums will be between 24 °C and 26 °C. Citizens are urged to stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and limit direct sun exposure during peak radiation hours.
Active surveillance in the Atlantic
Beyond local conditions, Indomet maintains strict monitoring of a low-pressure area located hundreds of kilometers south-southwest of the Cape Verde Islands. The agency reported that this phenomenon currently has a 70% probability of cyclonic development, both for the next 48 hours and for the next seven-day period, so the population is advised to stay attentive to official updates from Alofoke Deportes.
