Coercive measure hearing for Nino Dollar postponed following criticism of legal qualification
The hearing to hear the request for a coercive measure against Carlos José Troche Rodríguez, widely known as Nino Dollar, was rescheduled for this Saturday. The incident that gave rise to this judicial process occurred in the early hours of August 15 on Abraham Lincoln Avenue, National District. In the unfortunate event, Wilmer Rodríguez and his daughter, Wilkaren Rodríguez, lost their lives following a collision involving the SUV driven by Troche Rodríguez. A third person who was traveling on the motorcycle was injured.
After the accident, Nino Dollar turned himself in to the authorities on August 17 at the Motorist Center. The spokesperson for the National Police, Diego Pesqueira, confirmed at the time that the accused made himself available to the investigative bodies to clarify the facts and determine the corresponding criminal responsibilities.
Family members demand justice in front of the Courthouse
In parallel to the judicial proceedings, those close to the victims gathered in front of the Ciudad Nueva Palace of Justice. The protesters demanded that the case not be minimized as a simple traffic accident, calling for an exemplary sanction against the person involved. According to the families’ testimonies, the driver did not stop to offer assistance after the impact, a central point in their demands for justice.
