Temporary closure of the Floating Bridge this Saturday: Details and alternate routes

The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) has informed the public that, this coming Saturday, the floating bridge over the Ozama River will remain closed to vehicular traffic. The measure responds to the need to facilitate the passage of two vessels through the area.

According to official information, the mobility restriction will take place between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. During this period, the authorities will coordinate the movement of the vessels M/V Water Spirit 2, bound for the Joseph Industrial Development Corp. SRL shipyard, and the R/M Midgard Hugo, which is heading towards the Malaca facilities.

Recommendations for drivers

In light of this scheduled interruption, Alofoke Deportes recommends that drivers who regularly use this route plan their trips in advance. To avoid unnecessary delays, it is suggested to use the following alternate routes:

  • Matías Ramón Mella Bridge
  • Juan Pablo Duarte Bridge
  • Juan Bosch Bridge

The MOPC apologizes to the public for the inconveniences that this temporary measure may cause and appreciates the understanding of all users of this important communication route.
