Fedom announces the start of the 6th U-6 National Baseball Championship
The Dominican Baseball Federation (Fedom) is preparing to inaugurate the 6th U-6 National Championship, an event that seeks to foster sports development in the youngest ones. The competition, which will be played in honor of the “Frank Camilo” cup, will have its opening day next Sunday, August 23, at the “Tito Pereyra” field facilities, located at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center.
This tournament sets a historic precedent by featuring the registration of 33 teams from various parts of the country. The initiative represents a fundamental platform for children between 5 and 6 years old to take their first steps in baseball, allowing them to learn the fundamentals of the game and showcase their talent in a competitive and formative environment.

Competition format
The game system has been designed to maximize participation and excitement. The 33 teams have been distributed into 11 groups of three members each, under a round-robin format where each team will play two matches. The leaders of each group, along with the best second-place team, will advance to the next phase to complete a total of 12 teams. From that stage on, the tournament will be decided through a single-elimination or sudden-death system until the champion is crowned.
A large turnout of parents, grandparents, family members, and fans is expected to support these children, just as has been seen in previous editions held by Fedom.
The organization invites the entire sports family to gather at the Olympic Center to support the new generation of Dominican baseball, celebrating the effort and passion that these young athletes demonstrate on the diamond.
