Million-dollar theft reported after alleged poisoning in María Trinidad Sánchez

A resident of Nagua, identified as Luiyi Germosen, has filed a complaint after being the victim of an alleged robbery that occurred early last Thursday. According to Germosen’s account, the incident took place after he and a cousin spent time with two women they met at an alcoholic beverage establishment located at the Nagua–Cabrera exit.

The affected individual explained that, after socializing in several establishments, the group decided to move to a pool to continue the evening. Germosen states that, once they entered a room at said establishment, he lost consciousness, finally waking up on Saturday when a family member had to intervene to gain access to the place.

Details of material losses

According to the complainant’s statement, upon regaining consciousness, they noticed the disappearance of RD$200,000 in cash and a series of valuable jewelry, in addition to several personal items. The estimated value of the stolen items amounts to approximately 28,000 US dollars. Below are the details of the items reported as stolen:

  • Large chain: US$8,000
  • Small chain: US$2,800
  • Shackle: US$3,000
  • Large ring: US$5,000
  • Small ring: US$2,200
  • Watch: US$7,000

In addition to these accessories, Germosen reported the loss of four high-cost perfumes.

We do not know what substance we may have ingested or received, but there is a video where one of the women is seen handling a container, so we suspect that they used some type of medication to leave us unconscious for almost two days.

The young man pointed out that the suspicion of having been drugged is based both on the lack of memory regarding what happened during the mentioned time period, and on the discovery of visual records involving the women. So far, the competent authorities have not confirmed the use of illicit substances nor have they offered an official report on the progress of the investigations.
