Tragedy in San Cristóbal: 26-year-old woman murdered by her partner
A new act of gender-based violence has shocked the province of San Cristóbal. Last Sunday night, a young woman identified as Esther Salomón, 26, lost her life after being attacked with a bladed weapon in the El Cacique sector. The tragic event has raised alarms regarding the growing wave of femicides in the Dominican Republic.
Ongoing investigation and search for the suspect
The spokesperson for the National Police, Colonel Diego Pesqueira, confirmed that the authorities have initiated an exhaustive investigative process to clarify the exact circumstances surrounding this crime. Currently, efforts are focused on locating the main suspect, a man of Haitian nationality preliminarily identified as “Samson,” who has been on the run since the attack occurred.
Police agents, in coordination with the Public Ministry, are working intensely on collecting evidence and analyzing security cameras in the area to locate the person responsible and bring them to justice.
