Two alleged criminals killed after confrontation with DICRIM in Santo Domingo Norte

In an operation deployed by the Central Directorate of Investigation (DICRIM) in the Santo Domingo Norte sector, two men accused of multiple crimes lost their lives after engaging in a shootout with police officers. The individuals, identified as Michael Junior Rodríguez Peguero, nicknamed “Michael Peluche,” and a subject known only as “Enger,” were actively sought by authorities due to their alleged involvement in robberies, heists, and a violent attack that occurred recently in Boca Chica.

The incident took place this Wednesday afternoon, September 16, on Diana Street, within the La Arboleda residential area. According to the official report, the exchange of gunfire began when the suspects attempted to evade capture by opening fire on the officers. Despite being rushed to the Dr. Ney Arias Lora Trauma Hospital, both died while receiving medical assistance.

Criminal record and judicial requirements

“Michael Peluche” and his companion had accumulated various arrest warrants for violations of the Dominican Penal Code, including charges for armed robbery and criminal conspiracy. Among the open files against them are requirements for incidents involving multiple citizens, whose complaints had triggered judicial proceedings prior to this outcome.

Seized evidence and links to the Boca Chica case

Following the confrontation, the authorities processed the scene, managing to seize an arsenal consisting of three firearms: a .40 caliber Glock 23 pistol, a 9 mm Glock 26 pistol, and a 5.56 caliber assault rifle with an illegible serial number. Additionally, a gray Nissan Versa vehicle, previously located in Cumayasa, La Romana, was recovered.

This vehicle was used during the armed attack in the Los Coquitos sector of Boca Chica, where Johnathan Villanueva (a) Cotuí and Jesús Alexis Delgado Ortiz (a) Diddy Glow lost their lives, also leaving five people injured.

As part of the investigations, authorities reported that José Abraham Castro Arango, alias “El Tuerto”, surrendered voluntarily to the National Police following the operation. The DICRIM continues to work in coordination with the Public Prosecutor’s Office to identify and capture the others involved in the tragic event that occurred in Boca Chica on September 12.
