Man sentenced to 30 years in prison for parricide and homicide in San Francisco de Macorís
The First Collegiate Court of the Duarte province handed down a sentence of 30 years of rigorous imprisonment against Eddy de Jesús Camarena Jiménez, after being found responsible for the crimes of parricide, voluntary manslaughter, and attempted murder. The judicial decision marks the conclusion of a legal process stemming from the tragic events that occurred in March of last year.

In accordance with the ruling issued by the court, Camarena Jiménez must serve his full sentence at the Vista al Valle Correction and Rehabilitation Center, located in San Francisco de Macorís. This sentence represents the maximum penalty established in the legal system for the criminal acts committed by the defendant.
The facts
The investigation determined that the convicted person was directly responsible for the death of two people close to his family circle:
- His mother, Milagros Altagracia Jiménez.
- His minor daughter, identified by the initials E. C. G.
In addition to these crimes, the court found him guilty of attempted homicide against Eremise Gómez Vázquez, who was affected during the same violent incident. With this sentence, the judicial authorities of the Duarte province conclude the case, applying the rigor of the law regarding the serious charges presented by the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
