Luis Abinader begins official agenda in New York for the UN General Assembly
The President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, arrived this Sunday in New York City for the purpose of participating in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. His arrival was marked by an emotional gesture of closeness with the Dominican community abroad.
Upon disembarking, the president was greeted by a fellow countryman who works at the airport. The head of state shared the encounter through his digital platforms, highlighting the importance of connecting with the diaspora during each of his international trips.

An agenda full of diplomatic commitments
President Abinader’s visit is part of the United Nations High-Level Week, an event that brings together world leaders to discuss the most pressing global challenges. The highlight of his agenda will be his address to the General Assembly, scheduled for the afternoon of Wednesday, September 23rd.
According to official information, the president will complete a busy agenda that includes bilateral meetings and high-level panels focused on the following pillars:
- International cooperation and sustainable development.
- Advances and challenges in artificial intelligence.
- Promotion of trade and the attraction of new investments to the country.
- Strengthening of diplomatic relations with international organizations.
To fulfill this diplomatic mission, President Abinader is accompanied by an official delegation composed of the First Lady, Raquel Arbaje; the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Víctor Bisonó; and the Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza.
With this participation, the Dominican Republic reaffirms its commitment in multilateral forums, seeking to position its national interests and strengthen cooperation ties on the global stage.
