Dominican Republic establishes National STEM Education Day
The deputy for the National District, Vicente Sánchez Henríquez, announced the approval and subsequent enactment of the law designating November 8th as National STEM Education Day. This measure seeks to align the efforts of the State, the business sector, and academic institutions to prepare new generations for the demands of the digital and technological economy.
Sánchez Henríquez, who leads the Permanent Commission on Information and Communication Technologies of the Chamber of Deputies, highlighted that the core of this legislation is to strengthen the link between the private sector and the educational system. The goal is for the professional profiles trained in the country to respond precisely to the real needs of the current labor market.
Strategic alliance for young talent
The new law promotes the creation of comprehensive programs that include training, internships, and access to first-time employment. According to the legislator, this coordination is vital to bridge the gap between academic training and the requirements of modern industry.
