The La Vega City Hall reinforces municipal cleaning with a millionaire investment
With the goal of optimizing solid waste management and improving the quality of life for its citizens, the La Vega City Hall has taken a significant step by incorporating new equipment into its public services fleet. The municipal administration, led by Mayor Amparo Custodio, announced the acquisition of five state-of-the-art collection trucks and eight high-capacity containers.
This important operational improvement required an investment of over RD$34 million, funds managed directly with the city council’s own resources, complying with the strategic planning established for the current fiscal year.
A commitment to order and public health
The official presentation of the teams took place at the iconic Duarte Plaza, with the presence of municipal authorities, including Vice Mayor Amado Gómez, council members, and community leaders such as Eddy Flores, president of the Vegan Federation of Neighborhood Associations. During the event, it was highlighted that this delivery is part of a constant renewal plan to replace units worn out by intensive use.
This is a firm step towards a cleaner and more orderly La Vega, but this situation will not resolve itself, but rather through the efforts of all citizens.

- Significant reduction of improvised landfills in various sectors.
- Optimization of collection routes for a more efficient response.

This recent acquisition complements the actions initiated months ago, when the council added another collection vehicle and four additional containers. Mayor Custodio called for citizen collaboration, stressing that the success of these measures depends as much on the effectiveness of the city council as on the commitment of residents to dispose of their waste properly.
With this investment, La Vega reaffirms its intention to remain a benchmark in urban management, prioritizing the well-being of its sectors and the preservation of its public spaces through modern and responsible infrastructure.
