Dominican Republic becomes the epicenter of Caribbean soccer with the visit of Gianni Infantino and Victor Montagliani
Punta Cana has dressed up to welcome the highest authorities of world football. The Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, officially welcomed the president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, and the president of Concacaf, Victor Montagliani, who have arrived in the country to participate in the assembly of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU).
The visit of these high-ranking officials underscores the growing prominence of the Dominican Republic on the international sports scene. During the meetings, which were held separately, local authorities and representatives of international organizations exchanged views on the future of this discipline in the region.
Support for the development of Dominican soccer
One of the most significant moments of the day was the telephone conversation between the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, and Gianni Infantino. In this dialogue, the Dominican leader extended his welcome, while the FIFA president reiterated his firm commitment to collaborate closely to promote the growth and professionalization of soccer in Dominican territory.
For the Dominican Republic, it is a source of pride to welcome FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Concacaf President Victor Montagliani, and all the leaders who are part of the Caribbean Football Union. - Rafael Barón Duluc Rijo (Cholitín), senator for the La Altagracia province.
- Benny Metz, National Football Commissioner.
- Representatives of the Dominican Football Federation (Fedofutbol).
The CFU meeting represents a fundamental milestone, bringing together leaders from the various Caribbean associations to discuss strategies that will define the course of regional football in the coming years. The Dominican government reaffirmed its position to continue supporting all initiatives that promote the international projection of athletes and the strengthening of local sports structures.
