The newly elected secretary general of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Juan Garrigó Mejía, has broken his silence regarding the questions linking his recent appointment to his family ties. Various sectors have cast doubt on his rise, suggesting that his connection as the grandson of former president Hipólito Mejía has been a determining factor in his political career within the organization.
When asked if his choice is a matter of lineage, Garrigó Mejía defended the legitimacy of the party’s internal process and assured that he maintains an open stance regarding public opinion’s criticisms.
