Iván Ruiz leads RTVD’s transformation towards inclusive public television
The director of Radio Televisión Dominicana (RTVD), Iván Ruiz, has reaffirmed his commitment to the modernization of the state-owned broadcaster, highlighting the significant progress made during the renovation process that seeks to position the channel as a benchmark for public television in the country.
During the presentation event of “The Great Departure,” Ruiz emphasized the effort made by the multidisciplinary team that accompanies him. According to the executive, the work of these professionals has been the main engine for executing the structural and content changes that define the television station today.
A new vision for state communication
For the director, the concept of public television must transcend the figure of the current government. His goal is to turn RTVD into a platform at the service of the entire Dominican society, moving away from the traditional model that is often labeled as merely pro-government.
A channel, a media company that stops being at the service only of the government in power, that stops being simply pro-government and becomes the public television for everyone.
