Irregular removal of electric meter reported in San José de Mendoza
A vulnerable situation is affecting a family residing in the San José de Mendoza sector, in Santo Domingo East, following a report from a citizen who claims to have been a victim of the arbitrary removal of his electricity meter by contractor personnel.
The affected individual, identified as Daury Rafael Mateo Severino, reported that the incident occurred on the afternoon of last Thursday, August 13, at approximately 6:30 p.m. According to his testimony, a crew from the contractor company Eureka, identified by badge AC-EU-1411, entered the residential premises and proceeded to remove the metering equipment without providing prior notice or having authorization for such action.
Impact at home
Mateo detailed that the removed device corresponds to number 24013773 and NIC 4351133, which was installed on the panel of his home located in the vicinity of the San Isidro highway. The complainant expressed his deep concern because the service interruption has directly affected the stability of his home, where he resides with a baby just six months old.
An unauthorized contractor entered the residential area, took the meter without prior notice, and carried it away. He left me waking up without electrical power with a six-month-old baby.

Legal actions and case status
Given the lack of an immediate response and the seriousness of the incident, the citizen chose to file a formal complaint through the National Police’s Virtual Complaint Application, leaving a legal record of the event for the relevant investigations. As of the closing of this edition, neither the indicated contractor nor the electricity distributor responsible for the area have issued an official statement clarifying the circumstances of this procedure.
