Banreservas celebrates the Dominican Republic’s historic performance in Santo Domingo 2026

The Dominican Republic experienced an unforgettable event during the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026. Given the resounding success of the event, the executive president of Banreservas, Leonardo Aguilera, extended a warm congratulation to the entire national delegation, which achieved a record figure of 150 medals, marking a turning point in Dominican sports.

The Dominican delegation finished its participation in the fifth position of the general medal table, accumulating 46 gold, 37 silver, and 67 bronze medals. This performance not only exceeded expectations but also set new historical records for the country in this regional competition.

Their triumphs represent the result of years of discipline, sacrifice, and perseverance, and have filled the entire Dominican people with joy. The bank executive praised the hard work of the Organizing Committee, led by José P. Monegro, as well as the fundamental work of the hundreds of volunteers who made the development of the event possible. Likewise, the Banreservas representative thanked Luis Jiménez Oviedo, president of Centro Caribe Sports, for the trust placed in the nation to organize this special edition commemorating the centenary of the Games. According to Aguilera, the management of this event allowed for the best image of the Dominican Republic to be projected to the world, highlighting the hospitality and dynamism that characterize the Dominican people.
