Investigating the causes of the death of Julián Oro Duro’s wife

The remains of Seneida Castillo, wife of the renowned merengue artist Julián Oro Duro, are currently in the custody of the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF). Authorities are carrying out the necessary legal and technical procedures to clarify the exact circumstances surrounding her death.

Relatives of the deceased have traveled to the institute’s facilities in Santo Domingo; however, they have chosen to maintain privacy and not issue statements to the media for the time being, while they await the official results of the investigations.

Event details

The tragic incident took place during the early hours of this Monday at the couple’s residence, located in the Brisa Oriental 6 sector, in the San Isidro highway area, Santo Domingo East. It was precisely the artist who, upon arriving at his home, found his partner seriously injured, which triggered the intervention of the authorities.

Forensic and legal process

The autopsy performed on Seneida Castillo is a decisive step for the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the National Police. This forensic medical examination will allow for the determination of the cause of death and the documentation of the injuries present on the body.

We have to wait for the autopsy results to unequivocally establish the circumstances of death.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Diego Pesqueira, detailed that initial investigations suggest the victim suffered blunt force trauma and at least one stab wound. Currently, authorities are working on the following points:

• Collection of evidence at the crime scene.
• Analysis of the time the attackers remained inside the home.
• Clarification of the chronology of events.
• Identification and capture of those responsible for the attack.

Both the National Police and the Public Ministry keep the case open, focusing their efforts on clarifying this unfortunate event that also left merengue artist Julián Oro Duro with injuries resulting from the attack.
