Social well-being promoted in Bahoruco with the delivery of Residencial Vista del Lago
The province of Bahoruco marks a milestone in its housing development with the inauguration of the first stage of the Residencial Vista del Lago I & II project, located in the municipality of Neiba. The handover ceremony was led by the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, and the Minister of Housing and Buildings (MIVED), Jean Luis Rodríguez, who highlighted the positive impact of this work for hundreds of Dominican families.
The housing complex, developed under the National Happy Family Housing Program, had a total investment of RD$ 352 million, of which RD$ 76 million corresponds to state subsidies managed through the FONVIVIENDA Trust. This infrastructure is built on a 7,400 square meter plot and includes a total of 240 apartments, of which 128 were formally delivered in this initial phase.
With this, President Luis Abinader is reaffirming our commitment to continue building housing solutions to improve and elevate the quality of life for all Dominicans.

Social focus and gender equity
The project not only represents an infrastructure solution, but an intervention with a strong social profile. The MIVED carried out an exhaustive selection process to ensure that access to these homes was fair and equitable, prioritizing 70 families in vulnerable conditions.
The demographic data of the beneficiaries highlight the importance of this delivery for diverse sectors of the population:
- Female leadership: 70% of the homeowners are women, which underscores the priority given to households headed by mothers and working women.
- Active youth: 55.7% of the beneficiaries are in the 18 to 35 age range, facilitating access to homeownership for young people at key stages of their family and professional consolidation.
- Generational inclusion: 28.6% of the holders are between 36 and 45 years old, while 15.7% correspond to people over 46 years old, ensuring a multigenerational housing environment.

During the ceremony, Vice President Peña urged the new owners to take care of and preserve the facilities, emphasizing the importance of establishing clear rules for coexistence. With this initiative, the Dominican government reaffirms its policy of reducing the housing deficit and fostering economic and social growth in the southern region of the country.
