SESVIAL-FP demands transparency from the Government regarding the MOTOBEN program
The Road Safety Secretariat of the Fuerza del Pueblo (SESVIAL-FP) has placed the execution of the Moto-Beneficio (MOTOBEN) social program under scrutiny. Through a press conference, the political organization called on government authorities to provide a clear account of the use of public funds allocated to this project focused on Dominican motorcycle taxi drivers.
Erick Mejía Merán, Deputy Secretary of Road Safety and spokesperson for the commission, emphasized the need for the Government to detail the original purpose of the initiative, the amounts invested since its implementation, the registry of beneficiaries, and the actual impact indicators that support the continuation of the program.
We want to know how much has been invested, how those resources have been used, who has benefited, and, above all, what are the results that MOTOBEN can show.

Audit and accountability request
The position of the Fuerza del Pueblo arises after an internal investigation and formal requests for access to public information. According to the representatives, the goal is not to pass value judgments on possible irregularities, but to guarantee citizen oversight and transparency in the management of state coffers.
Among the main demands presented by the commission are:
- A special audit by the Chamber of Accounts regarding the resources allocated to programs for motorcyclists between 2020 and 2026.
- The presentation of a detailed public report on the financial execution of the program.
- Clarification on the selection criteria for beneficiaries and the current execution mechanisms.
Mejía Merán stressed that the motorcycle taxi sector requires tangible public policies that positively impact their road safety, their labor formalization process, and their quality of life, beyond announcements that do not translate into verifiable improvements.
Finally, the SESVIAL-FP commission reiterated that it will maintain constant monitoring of MOTOBEN’s performance. The organization insisted that the defense of professional drivers also implies ensuring efficiency in the management of public resources and the presentation of concrete results that justify state investment.
