Dominican pitcher Freddy Peralta put on a display of absolute dominance this Wednesday at Comerica Park, guiding the Tampa Bay Rays to a 3-0 shutout against the Detroit Tigers. The right-hander completed six innings of masterful work, allowing only two hits and keeping the opposing offense at bay.
With this performance, Peralta secured his first victory wearing the Rays uniform. The pitcher, nicknamed “Fastball Freddy,” showed a renewed and precise version by striking out four batters without issuing any walks, managing to leave behind the difficulties he had faced in his previous appearances with the team.

The shutout was sealed by a dominant relief effort: Kevin Kelly handled two perfect innings, while Tyler Wells completed the ninth inning without incident to earn the save. The only hits allowed by Tampa Bay’s pitching were isolated singles by Dillon Dingler and Brett Callahan.
On the offensive side, support for Peralta arrived early in the second inning. Chandler Simpson started the offense with a single, followed by an RBI double from Jonny DeLuca.
