Franklin Romero celebrates a decade of legislative management in favor of the Duarte province

Senator Franklin Romero commemorated this August 16th ten years of uninterrupted service in the National Congress, establishing himself as a key figure in the political representation of the Duarte province. His legislative career, which began in 2016 under the ranks of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), has been marked by high productivity and a constant focus on the development of his constituency.

From his initial foray as a deputy, Romero stood out by becoming the most-voted legislator in his province and one of the five with the greatest popular support nationwide. During his tenure in the Lower House, he maintained perfect attendance and active participation in relevant committees such as Culture, Human Rights, and Modernization.

A history of 135 legislative initiatives

During his time as a deputy, the legislator presented a total of 135 initiatives, including bills and resolutions, focused on improving the quality of life for Dominicans. Among his most notable proposals are:

  • Promotion of the Patronage Law.
  • Management for the San Vicente de Paúl Regional Hospital.
  • Expansion of the 9-1-1 National Emergency System.
  • Key infrastructure projects such as the San Francisco de Macorís Bypass and the Plaza de la Cultura.
  • Initiatives focused on child protection and labor inclusion for people with disabilities.

Works management and provincial development

Since his arrival at the Senate in 2020, Romero has continued to promote an agenda that combines institutional strengthening with the execution of tangible works in the Duarte province. In coordination with the administration of President Luis Abinader, he has managed projects long awaited by the community, such as the Doctor Ángel María Gatón regional hospital, improvements in sports and road infrastructure, and the installation of regional offices for various state entities.

These ten years have been about learning, work, and commitment. I have ensured that every initiative presented has a purpose: to seek solutions for our people, defend the interests of the Duarte province, and contribute from Congress to building a better country.
