Frank Martínez clarifies financing of his senatorial candidacy in La Romana
Dr. Frank Martínez, who was a candidate for senator for the province of La Romana during the 2024 electoral process under the alliance between the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) and the Social Christian Reformist Party (PRSC), has broken his silence to clarify the details regarding the funds received for his political campaign.
Through a formal communication issued this August 19, 2026, addressed to the PRM leadership and society in general, Martínez categorically denied the rumors that circulated during the contest, which claimed that he had received the sum of 30 million pesos to finance his legislative project.
The breakdown of received resources
According to the document presented by the political leader, the total amount received in campaign contributions reached 3,625,000 pesos. Martínez detailed the breakdown of these funds to provide transparency regarding the economic management during that period:
- April 12, 2024: 100,000 pesos delivered by a person identified as Jesús.
- April 13, 2024: 25,000 pesos contributed personally by Víctor Santana Pilier.
- April 22, 2024: 1,000,000 pesos received via check.
- May 14, 2024: 1,000,000 pesos deposited at Banco de Reservas.
- May 17, 2024: 1,500,000 pesos delivered by Neney Cabrera.
Defense of their dignity and honor
Martínez emphasized that the dissemination of the 30 million peso figure, which occurred just days before the May 19 elections, was an intentional maneuver to damage his image and divert the electorate’s attention. According to the former candidate, this misinformation caused well-intentioned collaborators to withdraw their support for his political project.
I forgive everyone who engaged in perverse and unhealthy maneuvers against me. I hold no hatred or resentment; but I defend my honor against any act or threat.
Frank Martínez, former senatorial candidate
The leader stressed that his decision to clarify these facts, two years after the process, responds to a commitment to his family and his political career. Likewise, he clarified that he does not know if the then-campaign manager, Neney Cabrera, managed amounts higher than those he received directly, thus marking a distinction between the resources that reached his candidacy and the general structure of the party.
Finally, Martínez reiterated his gratitude to the militants and leaders who worked hard on his candidacy, acknowledging that, in the political sphere, the amount he received could be considered limited for a large-scale senatorial campaign, but he appreciated the human effort deployed by the party’s base.
