Dominican basketball team announces preliminary roster for the World Cup window
The Dominican Basketball Federation (Fedombal) has revealed the list of the 25 pre-selected players who will be part of the national team for the fourth qualifying window for the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Qatar. The tricolor team seeks to maintain its good pace in the international competition under the technical direction of the experienced Argentine coach Néstor “Ché” García.
The announcement, made by the president of Fedombal, Rafael Uribe, and the general manager, Junior Páez, highlights the presence of star figures of Dominican basketball.
Elite talent in the call
The list submitted to FIBA is led by major international names such as Chris Duarte, Andrés Feliz, Jean Montero, and Jassel Pérez. Joining them is a group of high-caliber players who complete the preliminary roster:

From this group of 25 athletes, the coaching staff will select the 12 definitive players who will wear the national jersey in the matches against Brazil and Chile.

Key challenges on the road to the World Cup
The Dominican Republic arrives at this window with a solid 4-2 record. The first major challenge will be on August 27, when the team visits Brazil at the Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in Brasilia, a game scheduled for 8:10 p.m. Subsequently, on August 31, the national squad will return home to face Chile at the Arena BanReservas Profesor Virgilio Travieso Soto, also at 8:10 p.m.
The situation in Group E is highly competitive, with Brazil leading with a 6-0 record, followed by the United States with 5-1 and the Dominican Republic in third place.
