Eight Dominicans arrested after violent brawl with bladed weapons in León, Spain
A total of eight Dominican citizens were arrested in the city of León, Spain, after being involved in a violent confrontation during the early hours of last Sunday. The incident, which caused great alarm among the residents of the Barrio Húmedo, involved the use of machetes and highly dangerous bladed weapons.
According to official reports, the detainees, whose ages range between 20 and 30 years old, are allegedly linked to the gang known as the Trinitarios. The dispute originated at approximately 2:30 a.m. inside a nightlife venue and subsequently moved to various strategic points in the city center of León.
Police operation and seized weapons
Given the gravity of the situation, National Police officers deployed a security operation that allowed them to intercept those involved in various sectors, including Plaza Don Gutierre, La Rúa, and the Puerta Moneda area. During the arrests, the authorities managed to confiscate:
- Large-sized machetes.
- Double-edged knives.
- Other bladed weapons used in the brawl.
The Spanish authorities are keeping investigations open to clarify the exact origin of the conflict and determine the criminal responsibilities of each of those involved.
Balance of injured
The confrontation resulted in several people being injured, who required emergency medical attention at the León Hospital. Among the registered cases, the Government Subdelegation confirmed that one of the participants sustained an ankle injury while attempting to evade police presence during their escape.
The situation in the Barrio Húmedo has been brought under control by security forces, while the judicial process against those involved continues its legal course in accordance with current regulations in Spain.
