Dominican Republic and Venezuela dominate and advance undefeated to the semifinals of the 11-12 year old Baseball Pan American Games
The 11-12 Year Old Pan American Children’s Baseball Tournament has defined its great protagonists. The national teams of the Dominican Republic and Venezuela have sealed their spot in the semifinals after maintaining a dominant pace, qualifying undefeated following their recent victories over the teams from Puerto Rico and Aruba, respectively.
Following this Monday’s games, both the Dominican team, which leads Group A, and the Venezuelan representative, leader of Group B, hold an impeccable 5-0 record. The tournament, which is being held with great enthusiasm, is specially dedicated to Mr. Andrés Bautista, Minister of the Presidency.
High competition scenarios
The excitement of minor league baseball has been concentrated in key points of the capital. The decisive matches that defined the course of the standings took place at the Liga Deportiva Mercedes stadium, located in the La Fe district, and at softball field number two of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center.

The qualifying stage of the tournament will conclude this Tuesday with a tripleheader that will define the final matchups:
- 9:30 a.m.: United States vs. Aruba (Liga Deportiva Mercedes).
- 9:30 a.m.: Santo Domingo Province vs. Colombia (Softball field number two, Olympic Center).
- 11:30 a.m.: Colombia vs. Panama (Softball field number two, Olympic Center).
The event features the participation of delegations from Aruba, Colombia, Curaçao, the United States, Haiti, San Andrés Island, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and the hosts, represented by the Santo Domingo Province and the Dominican Republic national team.
Under the leadership of Rubén Hernández, president of the Organizing Committee, and Luis Mercedes, general director of the tournament, the event continues to consolidate itself as a key platform for the development of child talent in the region.
