Dominican Erick Mosquea Polanco extradited to the United States for drug trafficking
Dominican citizen Erick Randhiel Mosquea Polanco, known in the criminal world by the aliases Ramón and E, has been extradited from Colombia to the United States. The 45-year-old man must appear before the U.S. justice system to face serious charges related to international drug trafficking and money laundering.
According to reports from the United States Department of Justice, Mosquea Polanco was identified as the ringleader of a complex criminal structure operating from the Dominican Republic. He is accused of directing the trafficking of large shipments of cocaine into U.S. territory and orchestrating the laundering of millions of dollars obtained through these illicit operations.
A high-profile target for the DEA
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) had classified Mosquea Polanco as a priority target within a large-scale regional organization. Investigations revealed that the criminal network extended its tentacles across Colombia, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico, strategic points from which they coordinated their drug trafficking activities and the movement of capital.

During the investigative process, the authorities managed to seize significant shipments of cocaine and large sums of money linked to the organization. As detailed by the U.S. Attorney for New Jersey, Robert Frazer, Mosquea Polanco managed to leave the Dominican Republic using false documentation, but was located and captured in Colombian territory thanks to a joint effort between the authorities of both countries.
For his part, Attorney General Todd Blanche reiterated that the U.S. government has the necessary tools to dismantle criminal organizations, regardless of their geographical location. Currently, Mosquea Polanco is in custody in the United States, awaiting the development of the judicial process where he will have to answer for the accusations brought against him.
