During the first seven months of 2026, the country exported a total of US$9.277 billion, which represents an increase of 12.5% compared to the same period of the previous year. This performance, detailed by ProDominicana, underscores the sustained growth of key sectors and the strengthening of the national export supply in international markets.
Strategic sectors as growth engines
Export dynamism has been driven by fundamental areas that have shown robust performance. Medical devices lead the list of featured products, exceeding US$1.435 billion and representing approximately 15.5% of the total exported. Other sectors that have contributed significantly to the rise are:
- Raw gold: With an additional contribution of US$667.7 million.
- Tobacco: With a growth of US$105.4 million.
- Orthopedic appliances and articles: With an increase of US$85.9 million.
The dynamism recorded reaffirms the strength and potential of the Dominican export offer, as well as the capacity of our companies and productive sectors to take advantage of opportunities in international markets and continue expanding the presence of Dominican products abroad.
