Dominican Republic celebrates National Engineer’s Day: pillar of development and innovation
Every August 14th, the Dominican Republic dresses up to commemorate National Engineer’s Day. This date is not just a celebration on the calendar, but a well-deserved recognition of the professionals who, with their technical capacity and strategic vision, build the foundations upon which the economic, social, and technological growth of our nation rests.
The impact of engineering on the country is transversal. From the planning and execution of critical infrastructure that connects our cities, to advances in vital sectors such as telecommunications, industry, energy, computing, and environmental preservation, the footprint of these professionals is the engine that drives Dominican progress.
A commitment to excellence and ethics
The Dominican College of Engineers, Architects and Surveyors (CODIA) leads the commemorative activities of this day. Through patriotic acts, Eucharists and recognition ceremonies, the institution reaffirms the unwavering commitment of its members to professional ethics and excellence in the performance of their duties.
More than a professional celebration, this date seeks to inspire new generations to venture into the different branches of engineering, a key discipline to drive progress, innovation, and the well-being of Dominican society.
The anniversary serves as a reminder that engineering is the language of modernity. By encouraging young people to take an interest in these areas, the country ensures a future where innovation and problem-solving capacity remain the fundamental pillars for facing the challenges of tomorrow and improving the quality of life for all citizens.
