Carlos Baerga completes the Latin Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2026
The Latino Baseball Hall of Fame has made official the election of star former Puerto Rican player Carlos Baerga as the fifth member of the XIII Induction Class of 2026. Baerga, who was selected through the Veterans Committee, joins a select group of legends who will be immortalized in the upcoming ceremonial cycle.
Baerga’s selection was defined after a rigorous voting process focused on candidates with more than two decades of retirement. In said process, the Dominican George Bell and the Cuban Rafael Palmeiro were also considered, both of whom received support from the evaluation committee.
A brilliant career
Carlos Baerga left an indelible mark on Major League Baseball, standing out mainly during his time with the Cleveland organization. His career was marked by consistency and talent, achieving high-level distinctions:
- Three All-Star Game selections.
- Two Silver Slugger awards.
- Recognition as one of the most influential Puerto Rican baseball players of his era.
Exaltation Class of 2026
With the induction of Baerga, the group of inductees for 2026 is formally complete. The Puerto Rican joins the representatives chosen by the Circle of Chroniclers in the contemporary category:

A historic event for the Hall of Fame
The XIII Induction Ceremony will mark an unprecedented milestone for the institution. The event is scheduled to be held in December 2026 in Caguas, Puerto Rico. This will be the first occasion since the founding of the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame that the induction ceremony will take place outside of Dominican territory, consolidating the regional nature and international reach of the organization.
