Calamar Case: Court ratifies Judge Arlyn Ventura Jiménez to lead the proceedings
The judicial process of the so-called Calamar case continues its course following a key day at the Ciudad Nueva Palace of Justice. The Third Collegiate Court of the National District has made a decisive ruling by rejecting the recusal request filed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office against Judge Arlyn Ventura Jiménez.
The representative of the prosecution had based their request on the allegation that the presiding judge could have prejudices regarding the development of the case file, which motivated their request to remove her from the direction of the court in this case of high public relevance.
Continuity in the merits trial
After analyzing the arguments presented in the hearing, the court determined that there are no sufficient grounds for the removal of the magistrate. Thus, Ventura Jiménez remains at the head of the Third Collegiate Court, ensuring the continuity of the hearings scheduled for the trial on the merits.
