Anselmo Alejandro Bello Ferreras: Two decades of commitment to Dominican justice
Magistrate Anselmo Alejandro Bello Ferreras has established himself as a key figure in the Judiciary of the Dominican Republic. With a career spanning over 26 years of uninterrupted service, the judge of the Third Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) has dedicated his professional career to strengthening legal certainty, especially in the civil, administrative, and real estate areas.
A solid academic and judicial background
A graduate of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), Dr. Bello Ferreras began his journey in the judiciary in July 2000, initially holding the position of justice of the peace. Over the years, his professional capability allowed him to ascend through various instances, including the Civil and Commercial Chamber of the National District and the Court of Appeals.

Leadership in Real Estate Jurisdiction
One of the magistrate’s greatest contributions has been his management in the real estate jurisdiction. Since his promotion to the Supreme Court of Justice in April 2019, after having presided over the First Chamber of the Superior Land Court, Bello Ferreras has promoted the modernization of the land registration system.

Under his leadership in the Real Estate Jurisdiction Optimization Plan, the Judiciary has worked hard to reach levels of efficiency that guarantee speed in proceedings. During his evaluation before the National Council of the Magistracy (CNM) in August 2026, the magistrate highlighted the positive impact of these efforts, noting that upon assuming his duties, he found hundreds of files with years of backlog that have since been duly processed.
Institutional contribution and future vision
Beyond his jurisdictional functions in the Third Chamber of the SCJ, which handles labor, tax, and land matters, the magistrate has held strategic roles within the Judiciary. His participation in the Commission for the Judiciary Census and his constant work on regulatory updates demonstrate a comprehensive commitment to the transparency and efficiency of the Dominican judicial system.
