The city of Santo Domingo presents a day full of institutional, social, and cultural activities for this Wednesday, August 19, 2026. Below, we present the most relevant events that will mark the day’s agenda in the Dominican capital.
Social and academic commitments
The morning will begin with two events of great importance for the country’s educational and academic sector:
- 10:00 a.m.: The Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP), through its Greater Santo Domingo branches, has called for a peaceful demonstration at the historic Independence Park to present their demands and points of view.
- 10:00 a.m.: To mark its 46th anniversary, the Dominican Association of University Rectors (ADRU) will hold a thanksgiving mass. The ceremony will take place at the Our Lady of the Annunciation University Parish, located on the campus of the Catholic University of Santo Domingo.
Politics and professional training
In the political sphere, the Secretariat of Education of the Fuerza del Pueblo party has scheduled a meeting with the media starting at 11:00 a.m. The press conference will be held at the Casa del Pueblo Johnny Ventura, located at 253 Benito Monción Street, in the Gascue sector.
On the other hand, the publishing sector will have a proposal focused on professional growth. At 7:00 p.m., the official presentation of the book “I will teach you how to sell”, written by Enric Dupal, will take place at the National Library facilities.
Religious activities
The day will close with a spiritual event with a large turnout. At 6:00 p.m., the conference of the Supernatural Apostolic Movement (MAS), titled “The outpouring of His Glory,” will begin. This inaugural act will be held on Jacobo Majluta Avenue, Transversal 12 Street, in Colinas del Arroyo II, Santo Domingo Norte.
