Acroarte successfully celebrates the 15th edition of the 2026 Journalistic Merit Award
The Grand Ballroom of the Catalonia Santo Domingo Hotel was the setting for a memorable night, where the Association of Art Chroniclers (Acroarte) held the 15th edition of the 2026 Journalistic Merit Award. This annual event has established itself as a benchmark for highlighting the trajectory, culture, and social impact of communication professionals in the Dominican Republic.
The gala, held on September 1st, paid a special tribute to veteran journalist Juan T. H., highlighting his impeccable career and his incalculable contribution to the practice of journalism and the strengthening of the organizing institution.
Awarded personalities and institutions
During the ceremony, key figures who have driven national development across various sectors were honored. The awardees in this edition included:

- José Miguel Bonetti Dubreil
- Maridalia Hernández
- José P. Monegro
- National School of Broadcasting
Likewise, the journalistic guild recognized the work of prominent art chroniclers, including Alexis Beltré Ramírez, Yamira Taveras, Mayra La Paz, and Rammy Pérez, who have left a significant mark on the country’s cultural dissemination.
The Acroarte Award for Journalistic Merit reaffirms our institution’s commitment to valuing the legacy of those who, through their constant work, dignify Dominican art, culture, and communication.
An evening of art and talent
The artistic component was one of the highlights of the night. José Antonio Rodríguez, Pavel Núñez, and Manuel Jiménez joined their voices alongside the virtuosity of saxophonist Sandy Gabriel in an emotional musical tribute dedicated to Maridalia Hernández. The event was hosted by the renowned communicator Pamela Sued, while the general production was the responsibility of Walquiria Almonte and World Televisión.
The success of this fifteenth edition was made possible thanks to the support of important institutions and companies, among which stand out the Cervecería Nacional Dominicana, the Banco Popular Dominicano, the Banco de Reservas, Radio Televisión Dominicana (RTVD), among other entities that support the development of communication and culture in the country.
