Kelvin Cruz guarantees access to high-performance athletes following complaints at the Olympic Stadium
Sports Minister Kelvin Cruz took immediate action following recent concerns expressed by prominent sprinter Alexander Ogando regarding restricted access to the track at the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium. In response to the athlete’s complaint, the official coordinated with the volunteer group in charge of the facility’s administration and maintenance to ensure that high-performance athletes can continue their training without interruptions.
This provision is intended to offer a temporary solution while the remodeling work on the warm-up track is completed. Once said work is concluded, this area will be the official and exclusive facility for the sprinters’ daily practice sessions.
Preservation of sports infrastructure
The head of the sports portfolio emphasized the importance of taking care of national facilities. In this regard, he clarified that the main track of the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium will be reserved strictly for hosting high-level competitions.
The fundamental objective is to preserve this iconic sports facility in optimal conditions for large-scale events.
