The Spanish Royal Household has formally expressed its support and solidarity with Colombia following the strong 7.4 magnitude earthquake that has struck the country, leaving a preliminary toll of at least 132 dead. Through a message posted on the social network X, the institution expressed its closeness to the victims and those affected by this natural tragedy.

Concern for missing Spanish citizens
The situation is of particular concern in Spain, given that the Government has reported that there are 164 Spanish citizens who remain unaccounted for following the earthquake. Authorities remain hopeful that rescue efforts will allow them to be located as soon as possible.
Diplomatic efforts of Felipe VI
On the diplomatic front, it has been reported that King Felipe VI sent an official telegram to the Colombian president, Abelardo de la Espriella. In the letter, both the monarch and Queen Letizia extended their condolences to the families of the victims and wished for a speedy recovery for the injured.
