San Cristóbal intensifies the search for U8 baseball talent
The San Cristóbal Province Baseball Association (ABEPSANCRIS) is immersed in an ambitious qualifying process that spans various municipalities of the province. The main objective of this initiative is to identify the most outstanding prospects to join the teams that will represent the region in the upcoming provincial and national commitments for the U8 category.
This strategy seeks to raise the competitive standard of San Cristobal baseball, placing special emphasis on the development of the minor categories, which are the fundamental basis for the future of the king of sports in the region.
Commitment to national success
Eugenio Báez, president of ABEPSANCRIS, emphasized the entity’s mission to promote young athletes and return San Cristóbal to the top of national events. Preparation is key ahead of the upcoming calendar for the young baseball players.
On October 11, the National Baseball Federation will begin its U8 tournament, and we want it to be known throughout the country from the moment the San Cristóbal team arrives that we have the conditions to be the new champions of that sporting event.

Qualifiers schedule and development
As part of its roadmap, the association has marked the Provincial Baseball Tournament on the calendar, scheduled for November 21st and 22nd. This event will serve as a showcase for selected talents from the various municipalities and promises to be a meeting point for the strengthening of local leagues.
To date, the talent acquisition tour has covered key areas of the province, such as:
- Yaguate
- Palenque
- Hatillo
- San Cristóbal
- Haina
- El Carril
- Villa Altagracia
Inclusive vision and local leadership
Báez positively valued the receptivity of the sports organizations and underscored the importance of unity among provincial leaders. As part of this vision, the board has proposed that the coaching staffs of the provincial teams be composed of managers from various municipalities. This measure seeks to recognize the trajectory, leadership, and formative work carried out daily in the communities of San Cristóbal.
With these actions, ABEPSANCRIS reaffirms its commitment to the early detection of talent and the strengthening of a solid structure that guarantees the sustainable development of baseball in all its minor categories.
