All set for TBS District 2026: The countdown to the Golden Anniversary

The excitement of top-tier basketball in the Dominican capital is about to reach its peak. The Basketball Association of the National District (Abadina) kicked off the prelude to the Superior Basketball Tournament (TBS Distrito 2026), a historic edition that celebrates its Golden Anniversary, commemorating 50 years of tradition and passion on the court.

The event, which is shaping up to be one of the most competitive of the last decade, will have its official tip-off next Tuesday, October 15th, at 7:30 p.m. The BanReservas Arena, popularly known as the Virgilio Travieso Soto Sports Palace, will once again be the epicenter of this sporting celebration.

A meeting with the protagonists

To warm up the engines, a special meeting was held with the delegates of the eight participating franchises. The activity, hosted by José Manuel Rodríguez and Jonathan Betances, served as a stage for the club representatives to share details about the formation of their rosters and their aspirations for the championship title.

The delegates present who will represent their respective teams are:

  • Héctor Junior Gil (Los Prados)
  • Milton Díaz (San Lázaro)
  • Claudio Méndez (Huellas del Siglo)

  • José -Boyón- Domínguez (Mauricio Báez)

Representatives from each club offered first-hand information about the arduous preparation process of their squads, making it clear that the main goal is to achieve glory in this anniversary tournament.

High-level organization

The event’s organizing committee, led by the Administrative Minister of the Presidency, Andrés Bautista, has the strategic support of Edwin Castillo (Tatico), president of Abadina, and Professor Nelson Ramírez, in his role as Commissioner. The technical direction will once again be the responsibility of Ramón Ceballos, national technical director of the Dominican Basketball Federation (Fedombal), ensuring the quality standards required for an event of this magnitude.

The production of the previous content was coordinated by La Cabina Studio, under the direction of Jaime King, in conjunction with FHM Production, led by Cairo Frías, ensuring impeccable coverage from the very court of the Media Naranja.
