The 2028 annular eclipse: A ring of fire over South America

The series of astronomical events will continue on January 26, 2028, with an annular eclipse. On this occasion, the Moon will not cover the entire solar disk, allowing a brilliant “ring of fire” to form around our satellite. This event will be especially relevant for the American continent.

The partiality zone will be quite extensive, covering a large part of Central and South America, as well as sectors of North America, Greenland, and Western Europe. This phenomenon will have a total duration of 362 minutes, consolidating itself as one of the longest celestial events of this century, reaffirming the global interest in the spectacles that the cosmos offers us.
