Last-minute change in the UFC Fight Night main event

The UFC has made changes to the main event of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night at the Apex in Las Vegas. Flyweight contender Tatsuro Taira will face a new opponent, HyunSung Park, as announced on Monday.

Taira (16-1) was originally scheduled to face Amir Albazi (17-2) in a five-round main event. However, Albazi was forced to withdraw for undisclosed reasons.

Park (10-0), who was scheduled to fight Steve Erceg on August 9, will now compete a week earlier in the main event on Saturday.

Taira, from Japan, is ranked sixth in the UFC flyweight rankings. He comes into this fight after the first loss of his career, a split decision loss to Brandon Royval in October.

Park, who entered the UFC in 2023, has finished three consecutive opponents inside the octagon. He has managed to finish his opponents in his last seven fights, since 2018.
