San Francisco Secures its Place in the TBS Higüey 2025 Semifinals
HIGÜEY, LA ALTAGRACIA – San Francisco club achieved qualification to the semifinals of the 50th Superior Basketball Tournament Altagraciano (TBS Higüey 2025) after defeating San José with a score of 102-96.
This crucial triumph secures third place for San Francisco in the standings, with a 5-5 record. In the semifinals, the team will face Savica (6-4) in a best-of-five series (5-3).
The competition in the regular season was intense, with San Francisco, Centro, and Cambelén tied at 5-5. However, Cambelén was eliminated from the competition due to goal average calculations.
The B semifinal series will begin this Saturday at 7:20 PM. Series A, which will pit the Antonio Guzmán (6-4) and Centro clubs against each other, will start at 9:00 PM, also in a 5-3 format. Both matches will be held at the Leo Tavárez sports complex in Higüey.
San Francisco’s performance was fueled by the outstanding performance of Oscar Montero, who scored 31 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out seven assists. Jorky Mota contributed 26 points, four rebounds, and eight assists. Roel López achieved a double-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists.
Luis Feliz, capital reinforcement, added 12 points and seven rebounds, while Leoanny Reynoso contributed 11 points and seven rebounds.
By San José, Brailyn Reyes led with 27 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. Bryan Ramírez, a capital reinforcement, scored 25 points, five rebounds, and nine assists. Steven Brito contributed 19 points and nine rebounds, and Albert Reyes contributed eight points and 10 rebounds.
In another match, Cambelén defeated Centro with a score of 79-77. Nathanael Bonet scored 30 points for Cambelén, and Adonys López achieved a double-double with 24 points, 16 rebounds, and five assists.
Kerry Richardson, American center reinforcement, scored 26 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Albert Fernández contributed 20 points and Alexander Henríquez, 11 points and seven rebounds.
The tournament is organized by the Basketball Association of La Altagracia Province (ABAPA), under the presidency of deputy Jorge Tavárez, and is dedicated to Monsignor Jesús Castro Marte, Bishop of the Diocese of Our Lady of La Altagracia.
