GBC Pharmacies Inaugurates Intercollegiate Women’s Youth Volleyball Tournament

Santo Domingo, R.D. – The GBC Farmacias Group kicked off this Sunday the first Intercollegiate Cup tournament of juvenile female volleyball. This sporting event’s main objective is to promote the practice of sports among young people.

The competition is taking place at the Centro Dominico Americano Sport Complex and features the participation of eight representative teams from various educational institutions:

  • Ashton School
  • Top Sport (St. Patrick headquarters)
  • Dominico Americano
  • Serafín de Asís
  • Colegio Cristiano Génesis
  • Blitz Blanco
  • Blitz Negro
  • Saint Joseph

During the opening ceremony, Raymond Rodriguez, executive vice president of GBC Pharmacies, reiterated the company’s commitment to sports. He highlighted the importance of the sports sector for the country’s development, emphasizing its connection with education.

Francisca Santana, Marketing and Promotion Manager at GBC Pharmacies, emphasized that the Inter-School Cup is a demonstration of the company’s constant support for sports.

The opening ceremony included the blessing by Sofía Rodríguez and the sports oath, taken by athlete Alexandra Castillo.

Among those attending the event were Ángel Rivas, president of the National District Volleyball Association, and Jean Carlos Pichardo, founder and president of the Blitz academy.

The GBC Intercollegiate Cup is sponsored by GBC Pharmacies, along with the support of La Goma Autoservicio, Applebee’s Restaurant and Dominico Americano Sport Complex.
