Maresca, Chelsea's Manager, Suspended After Celebration Against Liverpool
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has been suspended for one match after his expulsion against Liverpool on October 4th. The Football Association confirmed that Maresca admitted a charge of improper conduct, after being sent off in the sixth minute of added time of the match, after enthusiastically celebrating his team’s winning goal. In addition, he has been fined £8,000. Maresca, of Italian origin, will not be able to be on the sidelines during Chelsea’s match against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, next Saturday. According to reports, Maresca told the Italian media that it was “an instinctive reaction” and added “but I think [the red card] was worth it”.
