In an operation that extended into the early hours of the morning, the police carried out a raid on a health clinic in Buenos Aires. The main objective was to secure the complete medical records of Diego Maradona, following a court order issued within the framework of the trial against seven health professionals accused of negligence in his death.
Pablo Dimitroff, medical director of the Los Olivos clinic, testified that Maradona underwent pre-surgical studies. The operation, performed by a neurosurgeon at the center, proceeded without complications.
The aforementioned studies were not included in Maradona’s medical history. Therefore, the judges ordered the raid to seize all files related to Maradona between November 3 and 11, 2020.
Maradona underwent surgery for a hematoma between the skull and the brain. He remained in intensive care at Los Olivos between November 4 and 11. Subsequently, he was transferred to a private residence, where he died on November 25, 2020, at the age of 60.
The raid, which began around midnight, lasted for four hours until Thursday morning.
According to the police, approximately 275 pages of relevant files and 547 emails exchanged between the medical professionals who are being tried were secured.
The trial is expected to continue on Thursday.
