Jason Day Withdraws from the Truist Championship
World No. 32 Jason Day has withdrawn from this week’s Truist Championship. The announcement was made on Tuesday by the PGA Tour, without specifying the reasons behind the decision.
Patrick Rodgers will take Day’s place in the tournament, which will be held in Philadelphia.
This is not Day’s first setback of the season. In March, the former major champion was forced to withdraw from The Players Championship due to illness.
Since then, the Australian golfer has shown variable performance, including a tie for eighth place at the Masters, a 27th place finish at the Texas Children’s Houston Open, and a 49th place finish at the RBC Heritage.
The Truist Championship is the sixth of eight signature events on the 2025 schedule, with a $20 million prize purse. In addition to Day’s absence, the tournament will also be without world number one Scottie Scheffler, who has decided not to participate to focus on next week’s PGA Championship.
