Naz Hillmon of the Atlanta Dream Wins WNBA Sixth Player of the Year Award

Atlanta Dream forward Naz Hillmon has been awarded the WNBA Sixth Player of the Year award. This achievement marks a milestone for the franchise, making Hillmon the first player in team history to receive this recognition.

During the season, Hillmon averaged 8.6 points and 6.2 rebounds. She stood out for her ability to make three-pointers, achieving 53 throughout the season, a significant change considering she had only scored one in her previous three seasons in the WNBA.

Hillmon proved to be a key player coming off the bench in 27 of the 44 games of the season. In addition, he set a franchise record by participating in 150 consecutive games, demonstrating his consistency and commitment to the team.

The player, who previously excelled in college basketball at the University of Michigan, also made a significant impact on the plus-minus statistic, ranking second in the league with +7.6 per game. Her contribution was fundamental for Atlanta to secure third place in the standings and achieve a franchise record with 30 wins in its seventeenth season.

It should be noted that Hillmon had already been recognized with the AP award for Sixth Woman of the Year earlier this month.
