Hawks Trade Kobe Bufkin to the Nets
The Atlanta Hawks have finalized a deal to trade guard Kobe Bufkin to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for financial considerations, according to sources close to the situation.
Bufkin, selected 15th overall in the 2023 NBA draft by the Hawks, has a salary of $5.4 million for this season and a team option of $6.9 million for the 2026-27 season.
This move provides the Hawks with greater flexibility in their roster, as well as generating a $4.5 million trade exception. For Bufkin, 21, it represents a new opportunity in Brooklyn.
Following this trade, the Nets have $11.6 million in cap space, with 15 players under guaranteed contracts.
In the last two seasons, Bufkin played in 27 games with the Hawks. In the G League, during the 2023-24 season, he averaged 23.6 points in 14 games.
