Alejandro Garnacho Moves to Chelsea: Agreement Between Manchester United and Chelsea

An agreement has been reached between Manchester United and Chelsea for the transfer of winger Alejandro Garnacho, according to sources close to the player. The 21-year-old player will join the “Blues” at Stamford Bridge for a fixed fee of £40 million. Manchester United will also receive 10% of any future transfer of the player. Garnacho will undergo medical examinations in London this Friday, before signing a contract that will bind him to the club until the year 2032. Manchester United sources reported that Chelsea’s initial offer for the Argentinian international was £25 million. Although United managed to negotiate a higher fee, it is below their valuation of £50 million. Garnacho was removed from the first team by coach Ruben Amorim this summer and did not participate in the pre-season tour of the United States. The player criticized the Portuguese coach after being left on the bench in the Europa League final against Tottenham in May. The forward has been training separately from the main group at Carrington, along with other members of the so-called “bomb squad”: Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia. Garnacho leaves Old Trafford after training in the club’s youth system and playing 144 matches with the first team. He scored 26 goals, including one in the 2024 FA Cup final against Manchester City. He was part of the United’s FA Youth Cup-winning team in 2022 and was named the club’s Young Player of the Year in the same season.
