Wrexham secures Callum Doyle from Manchester City

Wrexham has finalized the signing of defender Callum Doyle, coming from Manchester City, as announced by both clubs this Thursday. The young 21-year-old player joins the Championship team for a sum of 7.5 million pounds sterling (10 million dollars). Doyle has signed a four-year contract with Wrexham and joins a squad looking to establish itself in the Championship.
  • The recently promoted Wrexham has made significant signings.
  • The team has shown ambition in the transfer market.
  • The club seeks to strengthen its squad for the season.
The arrival of Doyle represents another significant move for Wrexham, who had already broken their transfer record this summer with the addition of striker Nathan Broadhead for a fee that could reach 10 million pounds sterling (13.4 million dollars). In addition, English defender Conor Coady has also joined the team, coming from Leicester City, for 2 million pounds sterling (2.7 million dollars).

He’s only 21 years old, but he already has experience in the Championship and is an England U21 international. I think he has enormous potential,” Parkinson stated.

“This signing is a statement of intent, as we’ve won the signature of a player over clubs established in the Championship and others that have been in the Premier League recently”.

Doyle has been an international at various lower categories of England and has played five matches with the under-21 team. He has experience in the Championship after his loan spells at Coventry, Leicester and Norwich. The player expressed his enthusiasm for joining the club: “I am excited to join the Club. I have been waiting for a permanent transfer for some time and I can’t wait to get started,” Doyle declared. Wrexham, owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, has started its Championship campaign with two consecutive defeats against Southampton and West Bromwich Albion.
