Wrexham breaks records with the arrival of Nathan Broadhead

The Wrexham, a team owned by Hollywood figures, has made a signing that marks a milestone in its history. Forward Nathan Broadhead joins the club in a record deal, coming from Ipswich, which could reach 10 million pounds sterling (approximately 13.50 million dollars). The transfer includes an initial payment of 7.5 million pounds, with the possibility of adding 2.5 million in bonuses. Broadhead, a 27-year-old Welsh international, has signed a four-year contract at STōK Cae Ras, subject to international clearance. This incorporation raises the Welsh club’s investment in the transfer market to more than 20 million pounds (27 million dollars) in this window, as Wrexham prepares to compete in the Championship after three consecutive promotions. Wrexham’s interest in Broadhead intensified after Chuba Akpom signed for Ipswich.

Broadhead was in the last year of his contract with Ipswich, a team he joined in January 2023 from Everton for 1.5 million pounds. The forward, born in Bangor, was part of Wrexham’s youth categories before signing for Everton at the age of 10.

I am delighted to welcome Nathan to the Club, he is a local lad who had a great desire to come and play for his hometown club. We are looking forward to working with him in the coming seasons.

Nathan Broadhead's arrival continues Wrexham's squad overhaul for the Championship.
Since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took control of the club in 2021, Wrexham has broken its transfer record several times. Among Wrexham’s recent signings are English defender Conor Coady and New Zealand international Liberato Cacace. Lewis O’Brien also joined the team from Nottingham Forest for a record fee of around £3 million ($4 million). Broadhead is Wrexham’s ninth signing since their promotion from League One last season. He has played 14 matches for the Wales national team, scoring two goals, and will join his international teammates Danny Ward and Kieffer Moore at STōK Cae Ras.

I’ve been waiting for this for a long time and I’m delighted to join the Club. Confidence is going to be the most important thing for us this season. We want everyone, from North Wales, to come to the STōK Cae Ras and show their faith in us.
