Liverpool have initiated talks with Crystal Palace to sign center-back Marc Guéhi, according to sources close to the negotiations. The South London club is expecting a fee close to £30 million (approximately $41 million) plus £5 million in add-ons. The Premier League champions are looking for defensive reinforcements following Jarell Quansah’s departure to Bayer Leverkusen, while Joe Gomez is out with a minor injury. A Guéhi has one year left on his contract with Palace, and the club’s president, Steve Parish, admitted that they might be forced to let him go this summer.

Yes. I mean, we’d have to, of course.

Parish also explained that losing players of that caliber without receiving anything in return would be a problem. In the past, they received an offer, but they couldn’t afford to lose both defenders. Guéhi joined Palace in 2021 after training in Chelsea’s youth academy and has since established himself in the England national team. According to a source, Liverpool are also interested in Parma’s 18-year-old central defender Giovanni Leoni, who is also in the sights of Inter Milan.
